The original guide to carry the shaman forth into the Aether Worlds on her Journey.

Divine All at our center.
Inspired by Iroqouis and Saami cultures, this drum uses a large Turtle Shell as it's frame, creating an oval shape common to Northern European traditions.
The Turtle is the great Mother Earth, the foundation for the continents according to many indigenous peoples of the planet. She is the keeper of ancient wisdom; indeed, the shell from this Snapper Turtle has changed little in the several millions of years since it was first put to use.
The hide is from a naturally deceased Horse.
The mongolian shamans say that they ride 'wind horses' into the next world to mediate with spirits. The resonance from this drum can be thought of as vibratory 'Wind Horses,' carrying you past your mundane limitations and the illusory world.
Spiritwalking with a Horse-hide drum is a powerful and blessed endeavor.

I have painted on the inside of this drum head, a traditional and pan-cultural symbol of a line with a jagged edge. This means many things; 1) The two hemisphers of the Brain, 2) The illusory veil between this world and the Spirit world.. that line where we Shamans tread, 3) Divine powers flowing through the drum and into it's weilder, 4) Powers of the Mountain Spirits.. made from the rising crust on the shell of the Great Mother Turtle who holds up the earth.
In the center of the head of this drum I have created a small, pin-sized Spirit Hole to allow the spirits to enter and leave the drum in your use. I have used spirit holes on drums before, to breathe in the high spiritual vibration and exhale it into my client, a stone, or anything needing especially strong energy to be directly imbued upon it.
One can also exhale smoke from sacred plants and herbs into this spirit hole, to fill the drum with your particular medicine for the ceremony. Tobacco would be used well in this way.
The hollow within the shell of the turle and the hide of the drum is a dwelling place.
The spirit hole is the door.

I crafted this drum by hand during a storm system lasting many days. It carries the powers of the Thunder Spirits; the Thunder Horses, and it will bring many blessings to whoever keeps it.
